Data Analyst
Data Analyst position available with Equation Consulting, a 40-person Layton, Utah based health care and technology consulting firm specializing in healthcare data and analysis.
Job Description
The Data Analyst position has the opportunity to work at the heart of the Equation team. This position will gain exposure to and learn the latest data and healthcare technologies and methodologies used to analyze data. The Data Analyst will be involved in a variety of challenges from a deep dive into a 50 million row data set to building a 5 year pro forma of a physician practice. We are looking for someone who loves problem solving, a fast paced work environment, and technology. The Data Analyst position is the stepping stone at Equation to a variety of fast-pasted exciting positions and opportunities. In addition, candidates would be expected to:
- Gather and reconcile data from disparate billing and financial systems
- Clean, organize, reconcile, and prepare data for analysis using SQL
- Manipulate large data sets using Excel and SQL
- Provide decision making support through data analysis and modeling
- Develop understanding of medical terminology and EQC benchmarking resources
- Provide analytical support to Project and Client Leads to complete project work
- Assist in the development of Word and PowerPoint reports
- Work in a close team environment
- Complete extensive computer work and travel on occasion
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree accepted but MBA or similar degree preferred
- Proficiency with MS Excel essential (pivot table experience preferred)
- Aptitude for math and economics
- Ability to solve complex number problems quickly

Job Description
Candidates will be expected to work with project managers, analyst teamsand clients to develop solutions using Microsoft SQL Server platform. In addition, candidates would be expected to:
- Develop SQL databases
- Write applications to interface with SQL databases
- Write, test, and trouble-shoot SQL code
- Design tables, stored procedures, views and functions
- Complete SQL query performance optimization
- Ensure that development standards and processes are adhered to
- Create analytical solutions using Microsoft Excel
- Work with large SQL data sets
Requirements

Job Description
The Consultant position has the opportunity to work at the heart of the Equation team. This position will gain exposure to and learn the latest data and healthcare technologies and methodologies used to analyze data. The Consultant is responsible for all aspects of the customer relationship ensuring client satisfaction of Equation deliverables and products. They are expected to consistently provide excellent customer service to clients as well as represent client needs and goals to ensure the highest quality customer service. They will build client relationships to encourage new and repeat business opportunities and take an active role in the marketing and demonstrating Equation’s array of consulting expertise and analytical products. In addition, candidates would be expected to:
- Take responsibility for client engagement, communication and delivery
- Fill the role of Advisor in taking responsibility for Equation Product implementation and support
- Fill the role of Project Lead in taking responsibility for on time, on budget, and on target delivery of multiple projects
- Develop and deliver reports, memos, PowerPoint presentations and other client deliverables
- Learn healthcare data technology including SQL coding language
- Provide decision making support through completing data analysis and modeling
- Provide input and support to product development and product strategy
- Complete other tasks as periodically assigned
- Frequent travel to/from client locations
